A wide range of conscious, intentional forms of the author’s presence in Gogol’s drama is revealed on the material of the play «Marriage».

In the article, based on the autobiography «Childhood: Scenes from Provincial Life», the process of J.M. Coetzee’s personality shaping against the background of the South African social and political conflicts in the end of the 1940s – the beginning of the 1950s is examined.

In the article an attempt is made to analyze the text by A.G. Bitov «Notes From Behind the Corner» from the point of view of meta-poetics. On the basis of the «Notes…» the concept of the «meta-poetic text» is considered, the principles of the inner text space structure are researched. In the course of the «creative chronotopos» research meta-poetic data of this writer’s other texts is drawn, in relation to which a special author’s code is singled out.

The article deals with the image of G.R. Derzhavin and the reminiscences from his works being researched in the songs, poems and books of recollections by the singer poet of the second half of the XXth century A. Gorodnitsky: the means and functions of their application, their relation to the pressing issues of today and to the images of the contemporary authors.

The author of this article examines intertextual correlations of the novel by S. Dovlatov “The Suitcase” with works by A. Blok, I. Brodski, N.V. Gogol, A.P. Chekhov, A. Grin, and carries out the auto-intertextual analysis, which allows to consider the correlations between Dovlatov’s works within the framework of the super-textual unity.

In the article the main semantic components of the blood motif are revealed in the novel «A Date with Bonaparte» by B. Okudzhava; the peculiarity of the lyrical and philosophical narrative of B. Okudzhava is researched.

The article deals with the analysis of the transformation of a household sketch in small prose at the turn of the centuries, with the growing complexity of «a life piece» from being social and typical towards involving psychology, philosophy and the depth of a fulfilled life.

The article studies the peculiarities of how the provincial problems were reflected in the Russian journalism and belles-lettres in the XIXth century; the main questions within the scope of the present issue are also considered.

Six English-language translations of N.V. Gogol’s novel «The Overcoat» are analyzed in the article; special emphasis is placed on the lexical, syntactic and stylistics text characteristics, on the presence of the colloquialisms, historical vocabulary, idioms, puns, and author’s neologisms; the approaches of both Russian and English-speaking researchers to the concept of «translation equivalence», its essence and qualities are defined.

On the basis of the comedy «The Inspector-General» a wide range of the undisclosed, unpremeditated forms of the author’s presence in Gogol’s plays.
