1.General information  
 

1.1. The Journal Izvestiya of Saratov University. Philology. Journalism is issued 4 times a year. It accepts for publication scientific articles in the following disciplines

5.9.1. Russian literature and literatures of the peoples of the Russian Federation (philological sciences),
5.9.2. World Literature (philological sciences),
5.9.5. The Russian language. Languages of the peoples of Russia (philological sciences),
5.9.6. Foreign Languages (Germanic and Romance languages) (philological sciences),
5.9.8. Theoretical, applied, comparative and contrastive linguistics (philological sciences),
5.9.9. Media communications and journalism (philological sciences).

Materials for the sections  Issues of the higher school, Criticism and bibliography, Chronicles of scientific life are also accepted for publication.

 

1.2.  The Editorial board does not consider manuscripts:

  • previously published,
  • currently under consideration for publication in other periodicals,
  • inconsistent with the subject matter of the Journal,
  • failing to meet technical requirements.

 

1.3. The relationships between the Editorial board, reviewers and authors are regulated by the publishing ethics of the Journal Izvestiya of Saratov University". The authors are responsible for the accuracy of all data presented and are obliged to promptly report the presence of a conflict of interest.  

 

1.4. The manuscript should be carefully edited and completed in agreement with the technical requirements (see section 2).

 

1.5. The Editorial board of the Journal checks all manuscripts for plagiarism in the systems of text matching content Antiplagiat. VUZ

 

1.6. All articles are subject to review (see Peer review procedure) and in the case of a favourable review they are scientifically proofread and edit-checked.

 

1.7. If the review indicates the necessity to edit the article, it is sent to the author to be corrected. The edited manuscript should be returned within one month. The edited text should have an attached letter with the responses to all the reviewer’s comments and explanations of introduced changes. Upon the receipt of the edited manuscript by the editorial board the text has a follow-up review. In case of a positive decision the manuscript is published on a first come first served basis; in case of a negative decision the manuscript is rejected. The date when the finalized version of the article arrives is considered the date of article submission.

 

1.8. The Journal contracts a License Agreement with the author authorizing the use of the scientific paper. The Agreement is made in two copies, it is signed by the author and is sent to the postal address of the Editorial Board of the Journal: 410012, Saratov, Astrakhanskaya Str., 83, Institute of Philology and Journalism, Editorial Board.

 

1.9. The period of considering the manuscript for publication is 3 months.

 

1.10. In compliance with Part 1 of Article 9 of the Federal Law FZ-152 “On personal data” of July 27, 2006, authors grant their consent to their personal data processing by any legally permitted method to Saratov State University (SSU), located at: 83 Astrakhanskaya St., Saratov 410012. Each author shall send a filled-in and signed Consent to Personal Data Processing form to the editorial board.

 

1.11. The work of the author (personal data subject) is included in the archive after the publication of the next issue of the periodical. The storage, arrangement, registration and use of archival issues, containing personal data is carried out in accordance with Part 2, paragraph 2 of Article 1 of the Federal Law FZ-152 “On personal data”of July 27, 2006 in conformity with the legislation on archiving.1. 10. Publications in the Journal are carried out on a non-profit basis.
 

1.12. Upon publication the issue of the journal is uploaded on the websitehttp://bonjour.sgu.ru/
 

1.13. Author's copies and certificates on pending publications are not available.

 

1.14. Copyright. The rightholder is the author of the article, which owns the following rights (without restrictions), confirmed by License agreement:

- the exclusive right to the Paper;

- the right of authorship;

- the author's right to name;

- the right to the inviolability of the Paper;

- the right to publish the Paper.

 

2. Manuscript style requirements

 

2.1. The file should be titled by the author’s surname (Ivanov A.).

 

2.2. Manuscript’s sections are: metadata (author information, annotation, keywords – in both Russian and English), main text in Russian or English, list of literature/references.

 

2.3. Recommended article length – between 20000–30000 characters, including spaces.

 

2.4. Formatting

  • Times New Roman
  • 14 points
  • book-oriented
  • both margins justified
  • single-spaced
  • margins: left – 3 cm, right – 1,5 cm, upper -2,5 cm, lower – 2,5 cm
  • indentation – 1,25 cm
  • pages not numbered.

 

2.5.  Metadata

  • For articles in Russian, first given in Russian, then in English; in English articles in reverse order.
  • 12 points font regular for the whole section but the first line, which is
  • article title in Russian –14 pt, bold font; in English –12 pt, bold
  • next author’s initials and surname
  • job affiliation with full institution’s address
  • author’s info (in Russian - surname, first name and patronymic in full, academic degree, position, chair/department, personal e-mail, ORCID number. In English – first name in full, patronymic initial, surname, personal e-mail, ORCID number)
  • abstract – 200–250 words on the aims and conclusions reached
  • keywords – 3–15
  • acknowledgements – name the supporting grants, if any.

 

2.6. Reference style

All references should be within the text in square brackets, first – source number as given in list of literature/references section, next – page number, separated by comma. If the source has more than one volume, the volume number comes before the page number, e.g.: [1, с. 56], [2, vоl. 1, p. 38], [17, т. 2, с. 370–371]. Each quotation should be referenced up to page number.

When needed, short footnotes can be provided, inserted automatically, continuously numbered.

 

2.7. List of literature

List of literature (section “References” for articles written in English) immediately follows the main text, font – 12 points, automatically numbered, arranged in the sequence the references appear in the main text. Authors’ surnames and initials in the list – in italics. For printed books –title, place, publishers, year of publication, total number of pages, number of volumes (if the edition is in more than one volume). For journal articles – journal title, year, number, article pages, DOI (if applicable). References to Internet sources include http and access date.

 

2.8. Style

The text should be clearly written, answer the journal’s submission requirements.

Use dash (–) and hyphen (-) correctly, standard quotes (« ») and inverted commas (“ ”) for titles within the quotations; abbreviate years and centuries in dates to “y.” and “c.”; people’s initials and surnames are given in non-breaking space (А. С. Пушкин), as well as date and year/century abbreviation (ХХ в.; 1812 г.).

Tables and figures are numbered consecutively in Arabic, ensure they all have captions. Tables and figures should be referenced in the main text.
