The article deals with the most important problems of the novel of the famous English postmodernist J. Barnes - the question of the authenticity of the foundations of English and the unreliability of personal memory. It also traces how the narrative character of the memory reveals the construction of the national identity.

POLE IS BROKEN AND "CONTEMPORARY PARNAS"

The article is devoted to the student period of the work of the French poet Paul Verlaine, who joined the 1860s. to the group "Modern Parnassus". The author analyzes both early "Parnassian" poems written under the influence of the masters of the older generation - Gauthier, Banville, Lecomte de Lille, Menard, Baudelaire - and the memories of a mature artist; the distinctive features of the "Parnassian" technique of verse are determined.

The article presents the results of a study of mythological allusions in M. Tsvetaeva's essay "The Captive Spirit". The material allows us to consider this essay as a "text-myth". Developing the personal myth of Andrei Bely about his life as a repetition of the "passions" of Christ and Dionysus, Tsvetaeva approves his concept of the Poet.

CHEKHOVSKY "PLATONOV" ("PIECE WITHOUT NAME") IN THE INTERPRETATION OF M. FREIN

The article is devoted to the study of the play of the modern English playwright M. Frein "Wild Honey", which in turn is a translation-interpretation of Chekhov's "Platonov". The article analyzes approaches, ways Frein uses in working with Chekhov's text, and also tries to understand how organically the classical Russian-language text exists in the space of the theatrical culture of England.

ANTICAL REMINISCENCES IN THE "THEATER OF THE REVOLUTION" BY ROMEN RALLAN

The article first collected and systematized organically included in the artistic fabric of the Rolland dramatic epic antique images and comparisons that contributed to the reconstruction of the features of the historical color of the image of the French Revolution of 1789.

RUSSIA AND NAPOLEON IN THE POT OF GOGOL "DEAD SOUL"

The belonging of the Dead Souls to the genre of the epic (ancient and medieval) poem about wars and wanderings (including the world beyond the grave) is the original author's installation, and not only Chichikov's "Adventures", but also the military theme in its various aspects is an immanent component text. Chichikov - the bearer of an alien, non-Russian mentality, invading Russian realities, and therefore the parallel between Chichikov and Napoleon is consistently carried through the entire text of the poem.

The article attempts to consider how the Russian philosophical lyrics, copiously quoted in the pages of the newly-found diary of S.L. Frank, reflects the "history of the soul" of the young philosopher, reveals the innermost depths of the "spiritual life" of his author.

GERMANY IN THE CONSTELLATION OF RUSSIAN SYMBOLISM (ON THE PAGES OF THE "WEIGHT" MAGAZINE 1904 - 1909).

The article reveals a meaningful picture of the perception of the image of Germany, German culture and literature in the pages of the journal "Libra" 1904-1909, which was a real "academy of Russian symbolism."

LERMONT IN BIOGRAPHY AND CREATIVE CONSCIOUSNESS OF CHERNYSHEVSKY

The attitude of Chernyshevsky to the work of Lermontov throughout his life is considered. Attention is given to the evolution from the religious and moral context of Chernyshevsky's perception of personality and the poet's works in the student years to prevailing in his assessments of political motives.
