In this article the author talks about the image-motif of the embroidering girl (the girl with the embroidery frame) in the works of A. I. Solzhenitsyn (The Gulag Archipelago, Cancer Ward, The Red Wheel, Three Brides) and the connections of his work with the texts of Russian writers of the 19th century.

The main semantic components of the motive of the ministry are revealed, its role in the plot and composition of "Selected places from correspondence with friends", the transformation of the image of the author-preacher into the personified, multifaceted image of the "good Christian".

The article is devoted to the study of the play of the modern English playwright M. Frein "Wild Honey", which in turn is a translation-interpretation of Chekhov's "Platonov". The article analyzes approaches, ways Frein uses in working with Chekhov's text, and also tries to understand how organically the classical Russian-language text exists in the space of the theatrical culture of England.

The article highlights the ways of more detailed comparison of the dual reality motif in the creative systems of Nikolay Gogol and Vladimir Dal. The key conclusions are made on the basis of the plot line and composition peculiarities of the texts, folklore symbolism and parallel review of the characters.

The article dwells on the artistic functions of hearsay and fame in the plot of N. V. Gogol’s novel Taras Bulba, on their internal link with the folklore tradition. The cultural and historic essence of Zaporozhye Rada is considered; the analogies with the text of the novel are drawn.

The article reveals problematic and thematic correlation and associative links that appear on the motif level between B. Okudzhava’s prose and poetry within the framework of the Decembrist problem range.

Okudzhava’s poem is regarded in the context of the classical poetics of rose, in the background of the traditional situation «farewell to the lira». The parallels with Pushkin’s, Batyushkov’s, Boratynsky’s and Khodasevich’s poetry are drawn.
