Everyday business communication: A commercial chat, its specifi c features and role in organizing the life of citizens

The article deals with the study of everyday virtual business communication. The digital age has a huge impact on individuals, signifi cantly changing their lives, and the life of society is increasingly immersed in the virtual space. The material of the study is Internet communication, specifi cally group communication of citizens, residents of Saratov, in one of the commercial chats: the speech of women’s clothing sellers and buyers. The purpose of the study is to show the development of the chat genre and its functioning in business communication.

Different functions of precedent phenomena in Russian colloquial speech

This article analyzes different functions of precedent phenomena in various linguistic and cultural forms of Russian colloquial speech. The author considers special features of precedent units being used in nominative, ludic, persuasive and password functions in different types of communication.

Different Types of Precedent Phenomena in Cultural Linguistic Forms of Informal Communication (On the Example of the Russian Language)

This article analyzes the use of different types of precedent phenomena. The author examines special characteristics of precedent texts, precedent names, precedent utterances, precedent situations functioning in different cultural and linguistic forms of the Russian informal communication. The author also identifies social and cultural variability of the system of precedent phenomena in the consciousness and speech of the Russian speakers.

Internet Meme as a Media Text

The article looks at the internet meme which is a popular phenomenon of internet communication. Being a media product which is aimed at a large number of people and which functions on the internet, the internet meme can be regarded as a media text. The characteristics of the internet meme are intertextuality, hybrid nature, interactivity, stereotypical nature.

SITUATION OF EVALUATION IN DISCUSSION OF SPORTS ACHIEVEMENTS IN FRENCH-CANADIAN CHAT INTERVIEWS

Franco-Canadians interested in sports discuss sports events on the Internet with famous sportsmen, coaches, journalists. One of the main topics of discussion is the evaluation of the achieved result. During the dialogue, different evaluation situations arise: the fan estimates the achievement of the athlete, the athlete evaluates his own achievements, the fan and the athlete evaluate the results of third parties. The article analyzes the correlation of positive and negative evaluations in different situations and gives characteristic examples of speech acts.

The article reviews the main communicative and discursive characteristics of the texts published in political blogs by the supporters of Scottish independence; the author reveals the degree of how these characteristics impact the lexical and semantic features of the texts under analysis.

Chat Interview as a secondary speech Genre

In modern Internet communication new speech genres are born. They are secondary in relation to the traditional forms, which emerged in real communication. Chat interview is a secondary genre, it is a type of a celebrity interview, mediated by the electronic communication medium. There are differences and similarities between these two genres. The differences are related to the mass nature of the audience of the «interviewers», to the nonprofessional character of their questions, to the lack of the chat interview plan, as well as to the explicit evaluative discourse character.
