The article examines the way Peter Ackroyd first creates and then destroys the image of Troy in the novel with the help of the motifs of eternity and element, as well as through the images of the characters and their perception.

The article studies genre strategy in «Daniel Stein, Interpreter» by L. Ulitskaya. The genre of the novel enables the author along with the third-person narrative to apply stylization of different forms of everyday life narration and records, to introduce the writer’s letters into fiction. Blurring the boundaries between fictional and factual principles in her work, L. Ulitskaya expands the range of reader’s interpretations.

The article reveals problematic and thematic correlation and associative links that appear on the motif level between B. Okudzhava’s prose and poetry within the framework of the Decembrist problem range.

George’s individualism, the representative of the 1900s and the head of the terrorist group, goes back to the romantic individualism of Lermontov’s namesake hero and his follower – a «hero of the time».

In the article the sound background and its sense function is analyzed in the image structure of Z. Gippius small prose (based on the material of the early novellas).
