The article studies genre strategy in «Daniel Stein, Interpreter» by L. Ulitskaya. The genre of the novel enables the author along with the third-person narrative to apply stylization of different forms of everyday life narration and records, to introduce the writer’s letters into fiction. Blurring the boundaries between fictional and factual principles in her work, L. Ulitskaya expands the range of reader’s interpretations.

The paper studies the way the category of fabulousness is modified in folk tales belonging to the nucleus of English folk tale discourse. Chronotopical parameter proves to be the most sensitive to the influence of extralinguistic factors. Being determined by socio-cultural conditions of its existence, the genre specificity of English folk tale is manifested in weakening of discursive features of chronotopical uncertainty, fantasticality (fiction) and, therefore, entertainment.

The poetic song of Bulat Okudzhava «Vanka Morozov» is regarded as an early manifestation of the poet’s self-determination in the context of the romance tradition. Juxtapositions with the genre thought to be the source of the poem (urban romance), with the parody and stylization of romance in the literature of the XXth century are given. The genesis of the key images and motives is traced. A new interpretation of the romance poetics transformation in Okudzhava’s poetry is offered.

In this article are described some artistically-linguistic strategies of entitling (in poetry) and naming (in advertising) marking a tendency to the activization of aesthetic function in the advertising text and contributing to the presentation of goods as the topical advertising aim.

In the article we single out stylistic peculiarities of dialogue in G. R. Derzhavin’s poetry, the use of stylistically dissimilar speech elements, purposeful slide in style, uncharacteristic of the classic ode genre.
